The Warehouse Theatre was founded in 1977
and is housed in a Victorian, oak-beamed
former cement warehouse dating from 1882.
The Warehouse Theatre Company
presented challenging new work
through its own productions
as well as co-producing
with companies who shared a commitment
to the same exacting standards.
Education, youth, outreach and writer development
was also central to the company's work.

Through the International Playwriting Festival
the theatre has discovered and launched the
career of a host of successful writers
and it has also had much success
in transferring plays to the West End
and other London theatres, and touring
both nationally and internationally.
The Warehouse Theatre Company is now in
administration. Its work will be continued by
our new company: Warehouse Phoenix Limited
